Indication
Used in the prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anemia; prenatal hematinic
Dosage & Administration
One tablet daily or as prescribed by the physician
Contraindication
Patients with iron-shortage or iron-absorption diseases, hemoglobinopathies, gastrintestinal disease
Warning & Precautions
Patients receiving repeated blood transfusion or to patients with anemias not produced by iron deficiency. Oral iron should not be administered with parental iron.
Undesirable Effects
Gastrointestinal irritation and abdominal pain with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. The feces of patients taking iron salts may be colored black.
Interaction w/ other medicaments
Concomitant administration of tetracyclines and some antacids may diminish iron absorption.
Storage Condition
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C
